While we didn’t see another blockbuster deal from the Los Angeles Kings, the team was active on trade deadline day.

Most notably, the team moved Brendan Lemieux, dealing the forward to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Zack MacEwen. The Kings also sent the Flyers a fifth-round pick in 2024 as part of the deal.

MacEwen is 26 years old and is set to become a restricted free agent this summer. He’ll bring some intensity and physicality to the bottom of the lineup, and managed four goals and nine points in 46 games with the Flyers this year.

Lemieux was originally acquired by the Kings from the New York Rangers two years ago, and did end up working out as a good fit on the team’s fourth line last season. However, he managed just three points in 27 games with the team this season.

In a smaller move, the Kings also sent Austin Wagner to the Chicago Blackhawks for future considerations. Wagner has good speed and looked to be establishing himself as a decent fourth-line forward a couple years ago, but ended up being bumped out of the Kings’ lineup and heading back to the AHL.

The Kings also acquired forward Nathan Schnarr from the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for defenseman Frederic Allard.

Recent addition Vladislav Gavrikov also made his debut last night in the Kings' win over the Montreal Canadiens. He had 16:20 in ice time, playing with Sean Walker.
