All I hope for is a D or C with the 2 first picks, in either order.

It would be nice to acquire a 2nd at the draft if our trash had some kind of value or didn't require a sweetener.
- VanHockeyGuy

If we want a 2nd bad enough there is a deal(s) there to be made. Looking at the bottom feeders idk if they’ll part with one. Looking more like a later 2nd which becomes less attractive. Expecting a hockey trade(s) if anything.

They both flopped

How is a 26 year old late 1st round pick a flop if he's already played nearly 500 games and has over 120 goals?

JT Miller is a mid 1st round pick with 200+ more games. He's nearly exactly 3 years older than McCann. If you get rid of the last 3 years of his stats the production is quite similar.

Is he a bust?

Ya, a late 2nd would be terrible to have.

Leafs goaltending.

I love it. year after year it's the biggest problem for them in the playoffs... year after year they trade away 1st round picks and use up their cap space trying to outscore their poopty goaltending acquisitions.

If they used some of those 1st rounders traded on drafting a goalie back when the Matthews era started, most likely they would have a franchise goalie by now and gone far in the playoffs.

What a waste of a good team.

Some people look at stats only, who would you rather have, Jared McCann or late round pick, Brock Boeser, give me McCann, all day, every day.

But they needed to go out & pay Tavares. Didn’t matter the rebuild was looking great without him. Lol

McCann never flopped. Let's take a look how he's doing....

62gp this season... 33g 52p

Last season... 74gp 27g 50p

Season before...shortened season... 43gp 14g 32p

Career... 489gp 126g 257p

You call that a flop? I say that's pretty good for a late 1st round pick... and he's a center as well. Not just that but he trended upwards his whole career and still showing that trend. Good pick. A bad trade by JB.

- boonerbuck

Horrible trade.

I knew we'd regret giving up McCann and said so at the time. I wasn't so concerned about his attitude when he was 18-19. He's a kid, like everyone else. There's a big difference between playing in Salt-Ste-Marie and Vancouver.

A good top 9, not sure I would call them a good team.

Also, I don't think they have nearly as good of a top 9 as the Canucks.

I guess that’s to be expected when you hire a Boston “journalist” to write for the Canucks.

Now I rather neither. Wingers are not needed. Trade Boeser for D if possible. Contract out is a start.

McCann has turned out to be one of Benning's better picks, considering where he was selected.

He'd look much better had Pastrnak not been selected right after him.

It was fun watching the Canucks knock him around. If the Canucks can do that, imagine the abuse he’ll take in the playoffs. I’ll give him three games before he’s out with an injury.

As apathetic as I've become, If they trade that first I'll lose it.
