I concede.

I like Mayfield, I just don't think he is the right fit, at this time.

If Dries is on the team, you are not a very good team.

Disagree at 762k which is a rare price. 23 player roster it isn’t on a bargain bin contact.

That is the issue and why I think they go for a true 3C.

Not sure they will want to fork out money in free agency, but a Scott Laughton type 3 LC would be fine. 3 million per. Several others I am thinking of are being paid almost 6 and above.

Dries is not very good, but you are allowed to disagree all you want.

I see it as in this order…

The cap Mgmt is PRIORITY.
Who will back up Demko. Silovs or?
Then onto more top 4-5 defensive D.
3C is last while retooling & looking to year 2. Drafting should get a C that won’t be more than 2-3yrs away from playing. Rather the wingers we are loaded with carry the fright til timing makes more sense. 1 will be gone I pick Garland.

Not pumping his tires in the slightest just saying cannot rush it all at once. He probably is a 1st call up.

Hoping Delia starts against the Preds. Don’t wanna push Demko nor hurt the tank too much. A good game to get Pod & Kravtsov some good TOI & opportunity.

Spacing between top and 4. You almost made it to 4 in a row with no mistakes. Keep at it.

I check the standings in the morning, see how far up/down the Canucks move, hoping the teams behind them can catch them overnight... then I realize they still have 20 games left, which feels like a perfect amount of games for the Canucks to inevitably go on a run

They are building towards next season!

After the top 4 you have a group of probably 10 players that all have that top 6 quality to them. If the Canucks can end up with Dvorsky, Yager, Heidt, Smith. That would be good.

If it's Sale, Barlow, Leonard, Cristall, Benson, Moore it's got to be a trade down scenario

Cam Charron

Pretty comical that after trading Stillman and Schenn, plus the Ekman-Larsson injury, has resulted in a defensive group that is far more mobile and better at carrying the puck. I really think teams underuse their AHL teams.
Canucks a .500 hockey team since Tocchet took over. Not exactly a "Bruce bump" but I see them coming around now that the teams really bad defenders are gone.

I am not sure you are the one I would seek out to discuss wisdom.

You would be what I call my desperation shot.

If I ever need someone for an anger or racist rally you would be my go-to guy. Wisdom, not so much.

I think they will try a centre who is in the 23-26 range, maybe someone like Joe Veleno, Anderson-Dolan or Cody Glass.

Also, you mentioned earlier about cost, which Haula will be more expensive than some players that could start to grow into that position.
I can't say I have ever seen Haula at centre.

Is it coaching or is it the players being incapable of putting in a full season of hard work?

For the past month, or more, they seem to be stuck in that seventh last spot. I don’t think they’ve moved up or down much from there. Given that, with 20 games to go, a sixth to eighth last finish is most likely. Followed by a lottery win.
