$7.26m but why quibble. Paying 2/3’s of a contract & getting absolutely nothing isn’t genius. Eating cap in years not contending is an option.

Canucks should put OEL through very rigorous physical testing after over his recent injury. Find out if a rehab regiment could help him get back into top form skating wise. Take as long as it takes.

Not for this management. They're going for it sooner rather than later. Not that I agree, but I could very much see an OEL buyout this offseason.

Agreed. And keeping a plug on your roster and continuing to play him sends the wrong message.

Thomas Drance : I am hearing like you Rick
that McDonough is trending in the right direction to sign in Vancouver. Good work by the Canucks here.

Hockeybuzz source Donna had previously mentioned how he wasn't signing. That look to be not true.

Dan do you have the corner office at Canucks Sports and Entertainment? When will they announce your AGM position?

It is a very simple decision. Why would you buyout a player if there are no benefits to it. If you are not going to collect the seven million savings the first year then don't bother. Worrying about two mil 8years from now is lunacy.

It'd be cool if there was a blogger here, who could update us when Hronek was due to play...
- dbot

He's week to week with a shoulder injury and may not play the rest of this season, you don't need a blogger to get this information.

I'm glad you think that, means he's probably gonna be a pretty good player then.

Juolevi was ravaged by injuries and still has managed 41 NHL games, if a 7th rounder is relevant enough to play 41 games that's a massive W

I wonder if their intention was to shelf him to help the tank. Team is winning anyways

I just repeated what Drance said. I was hoping we wouldn’t waste a contract on him

I know very little about the player all I can say is I hope he turns out better than Hobey Baker winner Adam Gaudette.

Maybe a step up because he can shoot.

Gaudette in that spectacular 2015 draft year.
47th in GP
40th in G
45th in A
45th in PTS

Good for the 145th pick. Even though if you listen to Lefty, Benning wasn't good at drafting.

I guess all you can do at the end of the day is go by the numbers shown. I am sure AG got more opportunity playing on a crap team than some of the players picked ahead of him playing on better teams.

AG started off good but turned into somewhat of flake and disappointment.

Signing Messier one of the biggest setbacks.
- Nighthawk

If they didn't sign messier we never would have had the west coast express which was awesome to watch until the Moore incident.

I would most likely say that his NHL career is most likely finished so he will probably be passed by a few guys.

In the average draft they say about 40 players break the 200 game mark. 2015 was a very good draft.

Still to find someone drafted at 150 to become a top 50 player in a draft is excellent.
