I think it clearly is the biggest issue in worldwide sport today. That's why track and field organizations have already acted on the issue. Wait until a famous male swimmer wants to be a female Olympian. If you think this issue is just going to stay in women's swimming, cycling, and track and field you're head is buried in the sand.

FINA's already ahead of you. So is World Athletics.

I love that Comedy Central plays reruns of Seinfeld. My favorite show of all time. Just too bad we have to be constantly hit in the face with commercials for some Rupaul Tranny show. (frank)in disgusting.

There are already rules for this which is what most people don't understand.

Do they need to be adjusted? Probably, but believe it or not, most transgender athletes that have won are from other countries

- Stripes77

That's because the US is usually always behind places like Europe in this department. The NCAA is just starting to figure this out, and they're usually very slow to move on just about anything, let alone an issue as politically charged as this. There will be a women's basketball team made up of majority of trans players within the next decade, largely because the NCAA is way too reactionary to prevent it.

That's pretty cool.

I wish the 3 x 3 was 10 minutes not just 5 minutes.

Make the shootout less relevant.

Probably be some kind of union issue. Playing extra time for the same dime.

- Boss34

In the playoffs it is 20 minutes of 3 on 3 and then a shootout. Sort of adopting the Olympic format with a twist.

The NCAA already made changes that starts in the 2023-2024 season. Is it enough? We shall see.

Edit: They move faster when it can affect their pocket books

The rules they're enacting are vague, and they're already getting backlash from just about every activist group out there. They'll cave.

Not when the IOC and other governing bodies are making these changes as well.

At the end of the day the NCAA is up with with FIFA when it comes to money talks so once it starts hurting the bottom line, they'll make more changes.

Do you really think that is the most important issue? Or are you looking for something to be mad about?

I will add, I have two daughters, one plays hockey, the other well who knows what she wants to do?

I will say that of the couple dozen or so people who were born male and now identify as female that are competing in sports is not a big enough percentage to worry about yet, but if it becomes more common place, the NCAA and the sports authorities that be will be forced to address it.

It is not up to a NHL team/player, or coach to be questioned on. If you think that is the point of these nights, you're missing the mark.

Also we are talking about some of the most corrupt organizations in the world with the IOC, NCAA and FIFA let’s be honest.

That's my argument, though. Keeping the rules vague actually helps their bottom line, at least in the short term. Nobody's been talking this much about women's sports in the past 40 years.

The IOC can keep their hands clean when constituent athletics associations make the decisions for them like FINA and World Athletics.

There will be more changes as time goes on. More and more studies will be done and policy changes will take place.

People will get mad on both sides of the argument, they always do. If there aren't changes, other organizations will start popping up. I am not saying the NCAA will have an immediate threat but you could see more schools going the AAU route in the future.

Here's a hockey hypotentical.

Say Comrie plays well again today, and then the rest of his starts this year and the Sabres make the playoffs. Would we be okay with him back next year with UPL knowing what we have seen this season?

It will give Adams the he got us into the playoffs excuse to keep him here.

Maybe trade for chryrun now ? 😀

Thirtysixensons would be in his glory.

Oh, he's predictably injured...... perfect, pair him with samuelsson in the nacho line.

- Boss34

Glory, why cause he might have helped, and yeah it's a shame he took a slew foot and got hurt. Go back to your Girgensons takes, atleast there funny!!

No adult male or female should be in the same locker room as a minor

Next ignorant question or comment please.

- Stripes77

Wait, what?

How is that going to work?

I'm not going to pretend to know how these international governing bodies operate. I do know that the NCAA isn't afraid to do their own thing. And while NCAA athletes do participate in international events like the Olympics, it's not their end game. To Stripes' point, though, we're going to see multiple changes in this department over the next couple of decades at least. And the only reason there will be changes is because there are still massive competitive advantages that need to be mitigated.

The team defense in front of him will be too lousy for this to happen, especially from the forwards.

I should clarify: alone

Safesport has rules in place that no minor should be alone in a locker room with an adult unless it's their child.

No adult should be getting changed in the same locker room as a minor

Oh I know, but I am speaking in purely hypotheticals

If the Sabres make the playoffs and Comrie is a big part of it, could you imagine the mess it would create?

My local club - swimming pool.

Used by adults and kids.

Where am I supposed to change?

I've already resigned myself to the fact that Adams is going to give another Dale Carnegie-esque monologue about how injuries didn't give Comrie enough time to be what they believe he can be, and that he will be here next season.

I am surprised they don't have family locker rooms there.

I am thinking too much about here at the rink I run and the rules we have to follow and enforce.

The car. Don't act like you don't enjoy walking through 3 feet of snow in nothing but a Speedo.
