Probably pretty high on both fronts.

Place is awesome and not necessarily prohibitively expensive either. The cost of the steaks are pretty much on par with what you'd expect to pay at a higher end steakhouse but every steak came with a loaded baked potato, salad, and french onion soup. If you have dessert or drinks after dinner they actually move you from your table to a specific dessert room upstairs where all the tables are semi-enclosed kind booths that are round like half a wine barrel (see below).

I think it's been around since the 50's and I would give it a big-time recommendation. It's real old-timey, so anyone that wants the douchebag "Salt Bae tomahawk ribeye encrusted in gold leaf and cut by some sort of sword" experience....then it's probably not for them

I saw a picture of their cellar after your post, it’s staggering. How I never heard of this place, and I have a good amount of family in the area, is mindboggling to me. And, yeah, their prices aren’t bad at all for a high end steakhouse. I’m definitely gonna look into going there the next time I’m down there.

Yeah it's worth it. I believe it's tough to make a reservation (my buddy handled it and said we got lucky getting a spot like a month-ish out) so plan ahead.

I will say that the food was not like "blow you away" amazing. Really good though. (I'm also sort of of the opinion that steakhouses in general are a bit of a waste because cooking a steak isn't a particularly amazing art) Still a great experience though, I was real happy with it and would go back over and over. If there's some way you can get a tour of their wine cellar, I'm sure it's amazing if you're into that sort of thing. They weren't doing it for whatever is on site because of Covid, which was a bummer.

"What does your dad do for a living?"

"He's an armed security guard guarding millions of dollars worth of wine."

Sounds like a good place. I don't need any of that pretentious stuff at a steak house. Give me a good steak cooked right and some good sides. Wine or beer (depending on my mood). Then finish it with an awesome slice of cheese cake. I'll be happy for the rest of the night.

Yep, for a guy who may have blown every top-five pick, he had quite a lot of hits otherwise, which is...a little weird

He was probably best at those later round gems (whether or not it was just luck...), but even some of the first rounders outside the top-five turned out pretty good. Maybe not Ho-Sang and Bellows...but Pulock, Nelson, and Barzal were really nice hits, and even Beauvillier wasn't bad for 28.

My guess is they microfocused on personality and perceived hockey IQ over straight-forward talent. Those pre-draft interviews probably carried way too much weight for the first round choices that they evaluated

Berns is phenomenal. I live 25 minutes from there and my wife and I go twice a year. The dessert room upstairs is one of a kind. You need reservations months in advance for prime times but if you are coming to the area, its a must do.

Five years in and our team is better for it. I hope they continue to sux as long as he is there.

It was a dumb move when you already had Matthews as 1C and you are in a hard Cap world. If this was a move Dubas mostly wanted, Shanny should have stepped in stopped it. The Leafs had more than enough offense already. The Leafs and JT were a bad match from the start and many of us said it from the start.

We give our advice and they take it or not. Sometimes HB GM's are proven right especially The Wolfpack.

If they spent the monies on goaltending and defense...This team would have probably won a championship or two.

As the process to find next #LeafsForever GM gets moving, I'd expect Toronto to interview at a minimum Jason Botterill, Marc Bergevin, Brad Treliving and Peter Chiarelli - if they haven't already.

Four names to chew on in TO.

Then again, what if Chiarelli tells Lou, "I only deal with my buddy, Garth."?

Then you hire him back with the title of "Special Assistant to the GM" and give him a very specific clearance to only make trades with Peter Chiarelli and nothing else. Then we trade Simon Holmstrom for Mitch Marner and a 2nd round pick
