Provie won't wear the rainbow and Vancouver is ALL about the rainbow. 50 years of futility have taught them that there's more important things than winning.

Results in a highly paid overstack of LD in Vancouver. Only way I make this deal is if some salary can be shed and some assets can be recouped on. O’Brien is showing sign-ability issues in Philly, so maybe VAN can offer him what he wants (a guarantee of an NHL Contract / Slot) and maybe VAN can shed the Tylers contract (in part).

To VAN: D I. Provorov (2yrs @ $6.75M)
C J. O’Brien (former 19th Overall Pick)

To PHI: RW B. Boeser (2yrs @ $6.65M)
D Tyler Myers (50% Ret. @ $3.0M)
2023 3rd/TOR+2024 4th/NJD

But then you’ve got an LD side of Hughes, Provo, and Oliver Ek. If I make that deal it’s only because I’ve accepted the misery on Q’s face day in and day out to mean he doesn’t wanna be here and it’s only a matter of time before it leaks into his play, his value, and the room. So…

To NJD: D Q. Hughes
W C. Garland
2024 4th/NJD

To VAN: C/RW Dawson Mercer
RW Alexander Holtz (7th Overall in 2020)
D Simon Nemec (2nd Overall in 2022)
2025 1st Rd. Pick

No, I wouldn't do that.
A top pair dman under a reasonable contract for 3 more years is worth more than BB.

Not against trading Provorov, but a high draft pick and a prospect is more likely than a mid 20's winger who doesn't fit into the Flyers rebuild any better than Provorov.

I like Provy. It’s puzzling why VAN signed Boeser to that last contact. Provy can log big minutes but he has his warts. His turnover frequency reminds me of Dumba. He’s not a 1st pair defenseman on a good team but definitely 2nd pair worthy. Overall, his arrested development has to be disappointing to the Flyers.

lol true story but that's a reason to like Provorov he stands his ground. Boeser will get you 20 per year but overall he's slow and a soft player which the Canucks seem to love lol. We need D badly in Van Scoring isn't an issue. Philly need scoring so this would be a good deal for both IMO.

So is OEL LTIR, or just considered 3rd pair now? I mean, if I'm Vancouver I take this. If "I" am Philly I don't, but if Philly is Philly, they might. Maybe Philly would take OEL as well if the deal gets bigger? Not saying they should, just that they might.

If Provorov gets dealt, it’ll be for picks/prospects. The Flyers have no business attempting to improve their offense for today. At least not for a person over 24 and with a known ceiling. They need to build for the future.

I think Philly’s best option is to be a tertiary team in a deal that smooths out a larger grab for the other two involved so that they may acquire some futures for themselves.
