It’s one of the biggest false narratives in the history of the team. Right up there with Matt Carle being a poor D man.

Tortorella has long been out of bullets in his coaching arsenal. The game has long passed him by in my opinion.

Welcome back! Once I saw 300+ comments, I figured you made your triumphant return, complete with the obligatory Torts being manipulative and archaic posts.

They suck! Almost as dysfunctional as the Flyers. Not impressed with PG and Embiid needs to get his head out of his ass.

Tippett and Drysdale for Sillinger and Jiricek 🙏

Actually Gunslingers stats will look impressive on this low production forward core.

Not really. He has been a pretty good player for a number of seasons, you just haven't seen it.
- MJL

But Torts & the flyers wanted him out. His flyers career was saved by a guy who wouldn't waive his contract.

Hextall had no plan. Much like the current group.

He will be a infamous figure in Pittsburgh for hundred of years. He hired a stick in the mud coach who was chased out of Seattle because he made the players seriously manic depressed.

Poehling, Laughton and Cates are bottom 6 forwards, they neither have the skill or capability to produce offense like Morgan can. Morgan is being sat because frankly he was not playing well, in ALL aspects of the game. The fact that Morgan can come into a contract year and not have his A game consistently is astonishing to me. He'll be in against Chicago, let's see if can help with puck possession and generate scoring chances. The Flyers have been getting caved the past few games.

Frost in now a top 6 player, he being sat because if he is not putting points on board he is useless

Well I would say Frost has the tools to be a top 6 forward, but his fragile mentality stops him from playing consistently. When you get to a high level of play and competition, the one thing that differentiates atheletes is the variance between when they are playing well and when they are not. Successful players have a small gap between their A game and b game. With Frost, its his A game or D game. That is too much of a gap and that is what's meant when I say he cannot bring it consistently. No player can bring their A game every night. But the successful ones learn how to impact the game positively even with their B game.

Yeah, we get that. And no one disputes that despite how many times you bring it up.

But he shouldn't have been out multiple games in light of the play of the other centers on the team.

If other players are playing better, why shouldn't Frost sit? What makes Frost special and immune from sitting? You think other teams don't see the same think the Flyers do, or I do? Frost has low trade value right now, in fact the only things going for him are his age and skill level. Whether he sits or not, his trade value is not getting any better. I asked this other night, was anyone missing Frost in the lineup? Do you think with Frost in the lineup, the Flyers are beating Colorado or Hurricanes? It's time to move on from Frost.

Here is where you go wrong. First of all, you continue to claim that Frost has a fragile mentality. There is no evidence to support that. He is a player that has overcome numerous obstacles to become at times, a solid NHL player. He has overcome and battled against serious injury and poor developmental coaching by both Yeo and Tortorella. The evidence including comments from coaches and his comments and willingness to try and adapt to coaching. All suggest that your comment that he is mentally fragile is incorrect. You made the comment that successful players learn to impact the game positively even with their B game. The key there is to learn. To digress for a bit, one thing that fans need to learn is what is fair criticism and what is not. Also that speaking of consistency, so does the criticism offered by fans. Now back to Frost. It is completely fair to criticize Frost for his level of play to this point in the season. In my opinion, Frost has not played a single quality game this season. He seems to be a slow starter. That is an area that he needs to correct. Lets contrast Frost with a player that you hold in high regard, Travis Konency. Morgan Frost to this point in time, has played 245 NHL games. He has had a couple of 40 seasons. Which are decent point totals for a developing player. Konecny around the same number of games played Konecny also had some upper 40 point seasons, slightly better. Then he took a step with a 61 point season. Followed by regression in a couple of seasons. Player development is often not linear and it takes time for players as you put it , to learn to be effective. You're willing to give players that you prefer the time to do so but for players you don't prefer. You're not willing to. You also overlook the same inconsistency for players that you prefer.
Back to Frost. So what should be done? You can either give up on the player, look to trade him from a weak position. Or you can work with the player and coach him through it. Find a way to help him improve. That's what a good coach would try and do. A bad coach, would just scratch him even though that would have zero positive effect in the long run.

Other players aren't playing better. What makes Owen Tippet immune from sitting? It is incorrect to say that Frost's trade value can't get any better.

Yes, you asked that question and the answer is absolutely yes. He is missed in the lineup. Frost playing at a higher level like he has shown in the past could definitely help this team. They're in desperate need for playmaking from the center position. He can't provide that or get better from the press box.

Did the Flyers beat Colorado and the Hurricanes with Tippett, Foerster, Brink and Farabee in the lineup? That's failed logic
