Good blog.

See if the lines go through a blender again.
I'll likely be at the game tonight. Lets hope for a nice quiet evening in-house. It's rainy and sucky out. I don't need my ears blown off by DJ Noisy.

It's not pretty. Unfortunately any hopes this team had went out the window when we lost 5 in a row, our end schedule is brutal.

I gather the plan is for him to be a bottom 6LD. Probably means Brannstrom is on his way out and Holden doesn't get re-signed.

I bet nobody picked Brannstrom, Brassard and DeBrincat as the goal scorers in this game.

Sogaard playing solid with a few great saves.

Beautiful move by Chabot keeping the puck in the zone on the PP leading to the Tkachuk goal.

Watson gets one too. Gotta love it.

Good game.

Chych injured

"Senators coach D.J. Smith told reporters after the game that he did not think his defenceman left with an injury but rather with cramps due to fatigue. Smith added that Chychrun had trouble sleeping, had a root canal earlier on Thursday and didn't eat before the game."

Anyone know why there was a scrum / delay after the 3rd sens goal?

People forget these players are human beings - injuries happen and the guy didn't get much rest with everything going on

Good on them. Hate Tampa Bay. Perry with the cheap clothesline in the scrum on Timmy. Also, apparently it's open season on hooking and hacking Timmy.

When you are a superstar, you get superstar attention. Soon, perhaps next year, cheap shots like Perry will get an automatic penalty for taking liberties with Timmy. But he needs to earn the status and he is doing a fine job.

Notice how all the talk of his being a diver has gone away. The next stage will be stopping all the stick work he absorbs every night.

The radio guys said that the players meeting after the 3rd goal (Brassard's) was because of an uncalled Tampa slew foot.

Ok...my thoughts on last nights game. So much of it centers around bonehead coaching moves---that end up working (very frustrating) because they're just SO wrong.

At home or on the road, without fail, after the Sens score DJ throws out the 4th line. If I had a betting app on my phone I'd make money on it. And on the first two Sens goals last night--out they come. They immediately got hemmed in their own zone giving Tampa great chances to score. If Parker Kelly was still on that line they WOULD have been scored on. That line is working slightly better because Kastelik can't lose face offs. Speaking of, the Sens were getting murdered in the dot last night. According to the score app the matchup had the Bolts slightly ahead, the eye test calls balonni. It looked bad. Except for Kastelik who's numbers are Bergeron'esque. So, if you're gonna use someone (Giroux) exclusively for face offs on the PK why not use the guy who's BETTER then? Speaking of the PK , for the life of me I can't figure out why Watson works but he does. Unpredictable, shot blocking, flopping around...he gets it done. But 5 on 5 he's a liability.

But then, later on when DJ threw that 4th line out after the Sens had scored that line did "ok" and made him look like a genius...especially in the dying minutes.

Also. Why WHY after DeBrincat Batherson Pinto generate a ton of speed and offense does DJ go..."oh..I see that's working great, lets break it up!!" DUDE. The guy behind me is like...."oh look DJ trying to be smart with the DeBrincat line again, he ain't gettin that hat trick now"

...all of this looks like useless complaining when the team goes out and gets a win. Seriously, they are winning despite this guy not because of any Gandalf like savant coaching. Tampa had no jam, no zip, no nothing. Brayden Point was the only one who showed up. Brian Elliot gets lack luster lazy defense in front of him. That Tampa team should be embarrassed losing to the Sens. Heck I'd go as far to say the refs were firmly in Tampa's back pocket last night too.

Oh Tampa was playing dirty lastnight
It was a good win for the Sens, Chychrun was fired up over the slew foot and Perry is a POS lol

I wish DJ would leave the D core alone and play all 3 on separate lines works much better that way, What a goal by Brannstrom I know it’s only his 2nd but just the way he took it all the way up ice and sniped it pass the goalie lol
Sogard played pretty good last night but we do need to ship out Talbot and find a number 1
Maybe use Sogard for a backup cause I’m afraid Forsberg gonna be injured a lot due to knees if he ever make a recovery from it 🤷‍♂️

Last thing they need to bring back Gauthier in the lineup sit Gambrell or Brassard , I’m gonna say Brassard cause Gambrel plays PK 🤷‍♂️
They might not make playoffs but the kids are making it exciting and worth while watching till the end
Oh!! Who thinks K-Train might play soon lol
I can’t wait to see this kid in action 😊

When you see that play by Brannstrom, it begs the question - how has he not done that a dozen times before this season? That goal had EK65 vibes for days. While he may never live up to Stone, I hope he can play with that kind of confidence moving forward. I'd resign him.

Because he’s scared to make a mistake then he’s outta of lineup and Holden is in
If he had a spot like Chabot Sanderson who can go out and make mistakes after mistakes and not have to worry about being benched ( not that they have ) Brannstrom would be a different player we would see these moves all the time
It’s really that simple 🤷‍♂️

Was at the game, it was a great sight to see. Have to wonder what his long term future is on the team, but he'll get some more icetime with Chych out.
