Chicago has the inside track on Bedard or Fantilla. Detroit will be lucky to get a top 10 pick. IT AIN"T HAPPENING!

Yet another painful watch. Wholly agree with you that this team seems disjointed. I, much like you, wonder exactly what the "system" is that LaLond is trying during the back end of the season, whatever it is it's not working. The PP has been listless as well. There were several defensive statsshowing how thw team's improved this season vs last, Ken & Mick were overflowing with praise.....kinda felt disingenuous to me. Vrana will be a hot debate, but the talent in Detroit is nowhere near what it was in Tampa.

I've said it before: this team is being built to be a long-term contender, but I didn't think it would be this painful to watch. I keep trying to bear that in mind, but the frustration when I see this team play well makes it hard. We should be patient, but honestly we were spoiled by 25yrs of SCPO. At least I was spoiled. We'll improve, it's going to take time but we will get there.....

Tank mode is in full effect. If the Blues and Canucks somehow pass us in the standings looking at picking around the #5 spot. Any word since Denver's season is over on Carter Mazur?

Mazur is only a sophomore, he has 2 more years of eligibility.....usually if you hear nothing, they stay in the NCAA.

Hopefully that's not the case. He's already got a national championship and was one of the top goal scorers in all of college hockey this season. Sign him sooner than later please Stevie. Also I see Kasper and Wallinder's seasons are done. Sign them up too while we're at it. Wings need all the help we can get.

I think the pre exit meetings are in full swing. Seeing Zetterberg around more with Lidstrom and Yzerman you have the 3 former captains publicly together watching games with development/scouting (Cleary and Draper). If the team were playoff bound, we may hear more about any college kids who may be ready to make the jump but I think (and it feels like) a trimming conversation right now. There used to be an argument that by 23 - 25 your ceiling was fully visible. Well, we’re 5 years past the 2018 draft. Do we know the ceilings on Zadina, McIsaac, Veleno, Berggren and Regula? Zadina isn’t the scorer thus far he was projected to be, Veleno was supposed to be the “steal of the draft” and has shown speed and toughness. Berggren was assumed to spend the year in GR. The draft before, Rasmussen and Lindstrom are still around. Ras seemed to do well in the bottom 6, Lindstrom seems to be the 6/7 guy. Hronek was the last man standing from the 2016 draft. I have to imagine it’s a wide open discussion on how much different this team can look (again) next year. Maybe they will reach out to Mazur, but who knows where this is going
