Was talking to a flyers fan the other day who was quite disappointed with Forsbergs time here in Philly. How does most of the fan base feel about his time here? |

If he was healthy there could have been so much more. Even as it is, on one foot the guy was unbelievable.
I remember that goal so vividly. I was watching in my basement with my father and brother. My then wife was 6 months pregnant with my daughter.
Now everything is different.

Forsberg was great when he was healthy. I’m glad I got the chance to watch him play for the Flyers. Makes you wonder what could have been. |

The fact he did what he was able to do what he did while on jacked up ankles/feet is remarkable. Over a ppg player in the one full season he had here. I couldn't ask for anything more from him. |

Easily my favorite flyer when I was a kid.
The man was unbelievably skilled.
I hated to see him have to hang up his skates so early but what he did with basically one good foot is amazing.

Always makes me wonder how many Cups the Flyers would have won if Larry Bertuzzi would have given Lindros to the Rags instead of the Flyers. |

I keep kind of a mental list of seeing certain player play live. I saw Forsberg twice. Once in Toronto. Once in Detroit. Both in the same season. Very special player. Nobody could take the puck from him and he could basically do whatever he wanted. In a league that show cases Matthews and McDavid, who is today’s Peter Forsberg? That pure playmaker. The guy with like 20 goals but like 60 to 70 assists because he’s that important. |

Imagine have 4 extremely talented forwards that take up half of your teams salary that choke in the playoffs every year.
Not to mention having a horrible pp.
Leafs have scored more than 2 goals once in the past dozen playoff games.

Or had the Flyers traded Brind’Amour instead. Would have had Lindros and Forsberg. |

Kucherov? He had a monster year this year, but kinda fits the role. |

From not too long ago, Backstrom, not as tough or physical but a similar pass first guy that could control play and was strong on the walls and in corners |

You could say Kucherov but Kucherov is a winger. So Kucherov has very little defensive responsibility. Kucherov is also not nearly as physical as Forsberg. Peter Forsberg will chop you in the chin with an elbow with the puck on his stick at the same time. |

What are the Phantoms odds of winning this series? They are obviously the underdog going in. |

It was because of the cap. Flyers signed Forsberg coming out of the lockout and needed to move Roenick to clear space. Roenick’s cap hit was just shy of $5m and Forsberg signed for $5.75m. Salary cap ceiling that season was $39m. |

Thank you. My memory didn’t recall the cap yet but that makes more sense now. Appreciate the response |

Doesn't help having a talked up great goalie in HelluvaBuck. AVS has 4 Legions of Dooms rolling them over. |
