Oilers vs Blues - More Names For Trade Bait

Tonight the Oilers will be gunning for a win and the chance to salvage .500 on this homestand. It's been a mediocre month with the entire team trying to find the same level of game that led to their 16 game winning streak. Against the LA Kings we saw a return to smart defense and opportunistic goal scoring but that needs to become the norm.

A few more names have popped up as potential options for the Edmonton Oilers. Let's take a quick look at a few of them:

Adam Henrique: 38 points in 57 games, capable of playing centre or the wing. Would be an excellent third line centre or winger that could provide the Oilers bottom six with much needed production.

Sam Carrick: 4th line right shot centreman. Physical player with decent faceoff numbers but would not provide much in the way of goal scoring.

Luke Kunin: Right shot winger who has provided decent secondary scoring for the Wild and Predators in the past but hasn't brought much this season, albeit on a pretty awful Sharks team.

---

Of these names, Henrique is obviously the best option in terms of providing a more threatening third line that can help outscore the opposition. The additional interesting note with Henrique is that either he or McLeod could centre that line with the other on the LW. Henrique isn't a Guentzel or Buchnevich in terms of a home run addition but he would still improve the roster.

If Edmonton could somehow land both Tanev from the Calgary Flames and Henrique and Carrick, that would certainly bolster the team in front of Stuart Skinner. Skinner was excellent against the Kings and I truly believe that as long as the team is committing to their systems in front and not missing assignments, they are a legit Cup contender.

For now the Oilers will focus on their game tonight.
