Per Pagnotta… could also be a pull for Petterson out of Pittsburgh.

Provorov has another season and salary already retained, may appeal to a contender.

The Russian defender in Tampa or Detroit would be a fascinating deal. Ideally, Tampa houses more Russians with Kucherov and Vaslievsky. Petterson and Chychrun have also been on Tampa’s radar.

CBJ G63 v Edmonton Oilers

BREAKING — Edmonton acquires Troy Stecher from Arizona for a 4th rounder.

The Columbus Blue Jackets take to the ice on deadline eve in their second and final meeting with the Edmonton Oilers for the season.

Edmonton has done some tidy work acquiring penalty killing forwards Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Ducks on double salary retention.

Columbus continues to talk and walk but not make any moves besides Bemstrom.

Oilers expect the newly acquired forwards to debut. Meanwhile, they have assigned Blue Jackets legend Sam Gagner and youngster Dylan Holloway to the AHL.

The hope is to get back on the winning side and player the available players unless a trade is looming at the 11th hour.

Jake Bean is out for Kirill Marchenko. Damon Severson is with Erik Gudbranson. Peeke paired with Provorov.

The Blue Jackets had completed a back to back series with Vegas and Pittsburgh. They stomped on Vegas and was defeated by Pittsburgh easily.

CBJ PG62 @ Pittsburgh Penguins — Deadline Sellers

The Pittsburgh Penguins are beginning their march in March with a 5-3 victory over Columbus.

Period I

Jesse Puljujarvi opened the scoring with his first as a member of the Penguins. Ryan Graves had the assist.

Evgeni Malkin got the go-ahead goal for the home team for his 18th of the season from Reilly Smith and Graves.

Period II

The road club began the scoring of the second period with two goals in a 37 second span.

Johnny Gaudreau got his 10th of the season from Jack Roslovic and Zach Werenski. This was Werenski’s 200th career assist. He is the first Blue Jackets’ defenseman to ever record 200 assists in franchise history. He is only the third skater to ever record 200 career assists, joining assistant general manager Rick Nash and David Vyborny.

Andrew Peeke evened the game with his first of the regular season with the assists to Jake Bean and Alexandre Texier.

Rickard Rakell got a powerplay goal for his ninth of the season unassisted.

Period III

Jack Roslovic got a shorthanded goal to the tie the game at 3 a piece. His fifth of the season came from Peeke.

Former Blue Jackets’ legend Jeff Carter got the eventual game winning power play goal 22 seconds later for his eighth of the season from the other former Blue Jacket Emil Bemstrom and Smith.

Smith got his second of the night for his 11th of the year from Geno.

Players to Watch

Bemstorm had the primary assist on Carter’s game winner.

Alex Nylander was held off the board.

The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Vegas Golden Knights by the final score of 6-3 on Elvis night.

Period I

Justin Danforth opened the scoring for his 10th of the year from Sean Kuraly and Zach Werenski.

Alexander Nyalnder extended the lead with his second of the year from Alexandre Texier and Ivan Provorov.

Mason Morelli ended the Jackets’ shutout. This is his third of the season from Byron Froese.

William Karlsson tied the game at 2 all for his 22nd of the season from Chandler Stephenson and Nicolas Hauge.

Period II

Erik Gudbranson got the Columbus lead back late in the second for his fourth this year from Johnny Gaudreau and Boone Jenner.

Period III

Nylander got his second of the evening for his third of the year from Cole Sillinger.

Chandler Stephenson’s 14th this year came Shea Theodore and Mike Amadio.

Yegor Chinakov potted his 16th from Kirill Marchenko and Jake Bean.

Nylander’s hat-trick for his fourth this season and first career hat-trick was supported by Texier.

Jonathan Marchessault was held off the score sheet.

Cole Sillinger lost his goal scoring touch, but got the assist on Nylander’s second goal.

Adin Hill allowed 5 goals on 32 shots for a 0.844 save percentage.

Daniil Tarasov had 36 saves on 39 shots faced for a 0.923 save percentage.
