t all comes down to game 82.

Throughout the NHL season, there are bounces that can determine games.

A post is hit, a bad goal allowed, a puck on a shootout gets away from a player, etc…

And throughout the 81 game journeys of Columbus and Montreal, through every bounce, they suddenly find themselves separated by just one point.

1 point away from making the playoffs or having an early summer.

For fans of hockey, this is exhilarating, for fans of the teams it’s exhausting.

Tonight Montreal will try to get it done again in front of their crowd, only needing one point, and playing against a team that has nothing to play for in Carolina… for a team that got to play without pressure all year, the Montréal Canadiens are learning what pressure is about in a really impactful way…. They are young team and this has to be one of the hardest, but also best lesson, they’re going to learn in their development.

It’s all about pressure and desire.

Once either of these teams make the playoffs, the pressure will be off as they play the best team in the conference and will be heavy underdogs…But for two more days, the pressure is intense, because when you get this, close, your fans expect it, and while it’s true that both teams had amazing seasons far beyond their expectations…. That’s the way you can think about it over the summer….. but not over the next 48 hours. It is the torture of being a fan.

Columbus on the other hand, has one game left at home against the New York Islanders… another team with nothing to play for but a team that is playing their last game this season….everyone wants to go out on a win. For Carolina this isn’t their last game. They just want to stay healthy for the playoffs.

Columbus has been playing well for quite some time now while Montreal has been fighting it.

So what happens over the next two days?
Who do you think makes it and why?

On today’s HockeyBuzzCast… I will once again and be joined by my newest correspondent, Luke Ravitz. We will discuss the frozen four results, College Hockey players making an impact, and the NHL Playoff race…
