NOTES:

With 10 points in 8 games, the retooled Hawks are nonetheless struggling to find their identity and hit on all cylinders.

And like Game 2 of the season where they hosted Columbus and Artemi Panarin, they have their first reunion of sorts with longtime defensive cornerstone, Niklas Hjalmarsson.

All that subtext aside, the Hawks have some lingering issues they would like to address and correct. They include:

- a 24th ranked power play (15.4%)
- a 30th ranking in shots against (36.8 per game)
- struggling on breakouts and poor puck management at both blue lines

All of the above are at least somewhat , if not highly, interrelated.
