Quinn Hughes news, solid rhyme. Much ado about nothing really.

McAvoy is out so the Americans are allowed to add another d-man in case they drop below six. Hughes can only play if the US goes down one more defender. This is the same situation that Canada was in when Theodore was ruled out after game one. Harley announced as replacement, and was allowed to play against the US because Makar was also out. Americans have 6 healthy d-men, so Hughes is on standby.

This is why he was practicing in Vancouver on Tuesday, in a non-contact jersey at that. Hughes hasn't played since Jan 31. And hasn't been skating, if he went to Boston he'd be sitting in a hotel room. Hughes hasn't skated in almost three weeks. Logic would dictate, that he should actually get some laps in. And he can only do that in Vancouver.

The Canucks are in Vegas on Saturday night, it doesn't make any sense for him to fly across the continent and sit by himself, when he can be skating with his home club. Then he'd have to fly back across the continent for Saturday's game. If he can play Thursday then he will go to Boston. If he's not playing, why be there? When he can skate the dust off with his team in BC. Sometimes facts get in the way of a good story, social media blowing up yesterday when people actually thought he could play. He can't. He's filling a vacated roster spot.

Thursday morning I will have my game day preview of Canada vs USA.
