Back on Track? Cats vs Wings |

|
The Panthers snapped their five-game losing streak on Tuesday night when they beat a very good Toronto team 3-1 in South Florida.
Tonight, the Cats will have a chance to get revenge against a Detroit team that beat them 2-1 during their meet up last week.
I commented on the last blog about Puljujarvi having an opportunity here (due to injuries) to showcase himself and prove he should be in the league.
It was something I just kind of typed. I partly believed it, but also felt (feel) that the deck is stacked against him and he’s likely no longer an NHLer.
However…he has strung together two solid games this far in a Panthers’ sweater. Yes. It’s just two games, and I’d agree that he has a ton to prove in terms of consistency. But, if it works out, he’s in a position to be another Zito bargain bin find — which would be very exciting.
Detroit barely clings to postseason life tonight. They are behind by eight points to Montreal for the last playoff spot, and only five games left to get points. With the way the Habs are plying, that’s a steep hill to have to climb.
Many people are pointing to the Yzerman magic running out.
Has it?
I don’t know…what I do know is that the Cats have a really good opportunity to continue building confidence for the playoffs with a win tonight. Let’s see them get a little two-game streak going.
