The Leafs got a wee bit of help last night. Montreal surprised Florida with a late game tying goal and then a quick one in OT, to send the Panthers to Toronto with a lost point. Lightning triumphed against the Islanders. So the Wednesday night showdown in Toronto has the Panthers sitting in third place.

Mikkola didn't drop the mittens in Montreal last night, like I thought he would have to. But hey, he scored in the first period. He's still shooting on the Habs and getting away with it.
As far as clinching a playoff spot goes. Leafs need a point, either them earning one, or Columbus losing one.

Florida has struggled on the road of late, 1-3-1 in their last 5 away from palm trees, outscored 16-9. Decent PK in that span 12/13.

Panthers are 2-0-0 vs Toronto this season, going 4/8 on the PP.

Since joining Florida for the playoff run, Marchand has no goals in 3 games with one assist, no unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Your second star of March, John Tavares (7G, 13A). was held off the scoresheet in Anaheim, ending his 6 game point streak. He's ready to start a new one. He scored in Florida's last trip to Toronto.

Leafs have won 3 straight at home, outscoring opponent 15-5, and a perfect 5/5 on the PP.
Looking at the Leafs goalies in March
Stolarz 3-3-1, 2.74, .898
Woll 5-2-1, 3.41, .894
No clear cut playoff starter has been established, but with 2 of next 3 against Florida and another vs TB, one will emerge into the spotlight.

Back tomorrow with thoughts on tonights contest.
