Game 7 - Do or Die by Chocolate

The AHL Calder Cup Playoffs have pushed to Game Number Seven in the Eastern Conference Finals between the Cleveland Monsters and the Hershey Bears. After losing the first three games of the round, the Monsters have come back to win the last three.

Game 1 - 5-4OTL

The Bears held on despite the late game comeback by the Monsters. The final score was 5-4 overtime loss. Ethen Frank, Aaron Ness, Chase Priskie, Hendrix Lappiere, and Mike Vecchione had the Hershey goals. Hunter McKown, Alex Whelan, Trey Fix-Wolansky, and David Jiricek had the Mosnters’ goals in the final two regulation periods. Hunter Sheppard had 21 saves for the Bears. Jet Greaves stopped 30 of 35.

Game 2 - 3-2OTL

Hershey survived overtime again with a 3-2 overtime victory over Cleveland. Garrett Roe, Ethen Frank, and Pierreck Dube recorded the goals for the home team. Josh Dunne and David Jiricek registered the road Monsters’ team. Sheppard saved 34 of 36 shots; Greaves disallowed 27 of 30 attempts on goal.

Game 3 - 6-2 Home Collapse

The Bears blew up the Monsters at home by the final score of 6-2. Hershey’s six different goal scorers were Jimmy Hunnigton; Frank; Alex Limoges; Ivan Miroschenko; Joe Snively; and Henrik Rybnski. Cleveland’s two home goals were Whelan and TFW.

Game 4 - 3-2 Win One

The Cleveland Monsters held on to hold the lead the whole game with a 3-2 regulation win. Cleveland’s goal were from Dunne, Achan, and Jake Gaudet with the game winner. Hershey got goals from Frank and Roe.

Game 5 - 5-1 Win Two

The Monsters got two different two goal scorers with a 5-1 win over Hershey. Cleveland got goals from Dunne (2), Captain Brendan Gaunce (2), and Whelan. Hershey’s
singular goal came from Logan Day.

Game 6 - 3-2 Late OTW

Cleveland tied the series at three a piece with a late first overtime winner. The Monsters’ goals were scored by Owen Sillinger; Captain Gaunce; and a returning Jake Christiansen. Hershey’s goal scorers were Rybinski and Snively.

It is do or die in Chocolatetown for the all important must win game number seven. One of these teams will have the Western Conference Champion Coachella Valley Firebirds. It will be an intriguing watch for all.
