1) Congratulations go out to Flyers Alum center/winger Jeremy Roenick for his selection to the Hockey Hall of Fame's induction class of 2024. Roenick is the 14th Hall of Fame inductee in the players' category to have spent at least a portion his NHL career as a Flyer.

The others, in chronological order of their Hockey Hall of Fame induction year: Allen Stanley, Bernie Parent, Bobby Clarke, Darryl Sittler, Bill Barber, Dale Hawerchuk, Paul Coffey, Mark Howe, Adam Oates, Peter Forsberg, Chris Pronger, Eric Lindros, and Mark Recchi.

The best seasons of Roenick's NHL career came in the early 1990s as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks. He achieved back-to-back 50-plus goal seasons and three straight years with 100-plus points on his way to 513 regular season goals and 1,216 points in 1,363 games. Roenick also gained the reputation of being a player who rose to the challenge in big games, including 122 points in 154 games in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

As a Flyer from 2001-02 to 2003-04, Roenick played in the NHL All-Star Game each season despite battling injuries ranging from concussion issues to a broken jaw. In 2004, Roenick scored the series-winning goal to cap a thrilling overtime frame in Game 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

2) On Tuesday, Flyers general manager Danny Briere issued the following statement regarding the organization's top prospect Matvei Michkov: "The Philadelphia Flyers were informed earlier today of Matvei Michkov’s release from his KHL contract with SKA Hockey Club. We are certainly excited to learn of this news and look forward to reconnecting with Matvei’s representatives in the coming days. Additionally, we are appreciative of SKA Saint Petersburg for allowing Matvei Michkov to pursue his dream of playing in the NHL."

3) On the June 26 edition of Flyers Daily, Jason Myrtetus discusses the timetable for Michkov to sign his entry-level contract with the Flyers (which is imminent but not yet finished) and Roenick's Hall of Fame induction. He also chats with Flyers winger Tyson Foerster about the player's strong rookie season and offseason objectives in preparing for 2024-25.

Flyers players are collectively about to ramp up their offseason training and preparation for head coach John Tortorella's infamous skating test (and mid-ice rope) on the first day of camp. Last season, camp attendees were put through an unbelievably grueling early camp that featured all players participating in four scrimmages in three days with one group each day having to play two scrimmages, back-to-back. Tortorella then put much of his Group 3 double-scrimmage group into the lineup the very next day for the preseason opener, and was critical of the players (most of the game group) who struggled all night skate with energy.

The flip side of the equation was that the Flyers quick start to last season (and also the 2022-23 campaign before it) was in no small part tied to the club being arguably the NHL's best-conditioned team on a player-by-player basis for the early part of the regular season. Those expectations will not change this year, as Tortorella is a firm believer in running some of the most skating-intensive camps to be found.

4) Today in Flyers History: On June 26, 2009, the Flyers acquired future Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Pronger from the Anaheim Ducks. In return, the Flyers sent winger Joffrey Lupul, young defenseman Luca Sbisa, a 2010 first-round pick and a 2010 conditional third-round pick. The Flyers also acquired minor-league forward Ryan Dingle in the trade.

5) Today in Flyers History: On June 26, 2015, the Flyers made a Draft night trade with Toronto to move up the 24th overall pick of the first round (Travis Konecny). The Flyers sent Tampa Bay's 2015 first-round pick (Gabriel Carlsson) and a 2015 second-rounder (Jeremy Bracco) to the Maple Leafs.

6) June 26 Flyers Alumni birthday: Brad Jones (1965).
