Guerin's Plan Is Working, Despite Summer of Inactivity |

We are hotting the midway point of the Summer as the calendar will turn to August next week. It has not been a very active off-season for the Wild for good reason.
We knew that there was not much that could be done however, the Wild are still a very solid playoff team. They will return virtually all of the roster from last season barring the rentals that came over at the deadline.
The big hole is that on the blueline, with Matt Dumba leaving through free agency. Guerin will be making moves, but is now the time to make a move that cannot be undone later, after it is deemed to be a bad acquistition.
Remember October and November are parts of the season to stock the points bank, but as the season hits the midway point those points become that much more difficult to earn. Guerin is setting himself up now to assess the team and then make the necessary changes accordingly with a little more first hand knowledge of how things stand at that point.
It is frustrating for some, but know that Bill Guerin is working his plan and this Summer of limited activity, was absolutely a part of the plan from the start.
This is the season for Wild prospects to step up, like Sammy Walker and Adam Beckman. Of course Marco Rossi is the big prospect that really must take a giant leap forward and the one that will have the longest leash.
Either way with more prospects coming in the next few seasons now is the time and the competition should be pretty fierce once camp opens.
