Listening to Good Stellick and Marty Biron this morning on XM I was reminded that the NHL MVP is technically supposed to be awarded to the player who is "most valuable to his team" NOT the Most Valuable Player in the League.
So who are the 32 Most valuable players to their teams?
Lets start with the first half of the teams, alphabetically ...
Anaheim: Mason MacTavish: the guy does it all and the Ducks season has been a disaster
Arizona:
Clayton Keller: Soon this could be Logan Cooley, but Keller is on his own level.
Boston:
Charlie McAvoy: The Bruins go as McAvoy goes. Pastrnak continues to get netter and better ann is their best scorer...
Buffalo: Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. The Sabres are still in this basically because of the play of UPL. Dahlin is their best all around player...Byman has looked amazing in a short period of time...
Calgary: Jacob Markstrom. He has been as advertised this season, even though they tried to trade him several times...
Carolina: Sebastian Aho. This is a veteran team and Aho's consistency is amazing. The leading rookie point getter for the Hurricanes is Vasily Ponomarev. He has two points.
Chicago: Speaking of rookies...Connor Bedard is already their MVP. which is incredible...
Colorado: McKinnon or Maker? or what about Rantanen? In my opinion MacKinnon...
Columbus: I'm going Werenski. When he is in the lineup and healthy the Jackets are a far more competitive team...
Dallas: Many players on the Stars are responsible for this team being dangerous, but Jake Oettinger is unquestionably the reason they are a contender..
Detroit Red Wings: Dylan Larkin. It has become all the more obvious as Detroit has struggled without Larkin...
Edmonton: Is it possible McDavid wins this award, bit Draisaitl is actually more important to this team? also major shout out to Bouchard....and Hyman.
Florida: Bobrovski. The Panthers need Bob to be a Vezina candidate and the whole team plays better when he is in net...Nothing against Tkachuk...He is a clear 1A.
LA Kings: In my opinion it's Kempe. He is such an underrated talent still...
Minnesota: This season Fleury has truly stepped up. but I am such a fan of Kaprisov...
