Just before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, acting general manager and president of hockey operations John Davidson announced the trade of Emil Bemstrom to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Alex Nylander and a 2026 conditional sixth round draft pick.

The conditioning being if Bemstrom scored six goals as a Penguin before the end of the season that draft pick jumps to a third round pick in 26.

Since joining the Blue Jackets, Nylander had scored 10 goals and added 3 assists for 13 points in 17 games.

He is one of 10 players to score 10 goals or more as a part of the worst team in the East.

Nyalnder is a pending RFA. As a class of 2016 first round pick at eighth overall, this is the hottest streak going in his career. After little success in Buffalo, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, is this home?
