The Columbus Blue Jackets are on their last road trip of the season and are taking over the south for the end of their season run.

The Blue Jackets concluded their final multiple game home stand with a historic win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The next night they went on to get shutout by the Carolina Hurricanes in a goaltender milestone.

The Columbus Blue Jackets made NHL history in their 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in their home game of their home stand for the 23-24 season.

Period I

Erik Gudbranson opened the scoring for his sixth of the season just past the halfway mark of the period. His goal was assisted by Mikkael Pyyhita and Justin Danforth. This was Pyyhita’s second career point and first in 13 games of the season.

Damon Severson grabbed his eighth of the year with the assists going to Johnny Gaudreau and Zach Werenski.

Period II

Severson added to his goal totals with his ninth of the season and second of the evening just before the halfway mark of the frame. His latest tally was supported by Gaudreau and Alex Nylander.

Olle Lycksell recorded his first career NHL with the lone assist going to Garnet Hathaway.

Nick Blankenburg recorded his first goal of the regular season with the assists going to David Jiricek and Alex Texier.

Period III

Zach Werenski got the powerplay marker for his eighth of the season with the lone assist going to Dmitry Voronkov.

Werenski followed up minutes later with his second of the night and ninth of the campaign with the helpers going to Carson Meyer and James Malatesta.

Adam Ginning got his first career goal with the assists going to Noah Cates and Ronnie Attard.

Erik Johnson — pulled for Attard last minute.

Ivan Provorov — +2 with 22 minutes of time on ice.

Goaltenders

Samuel Ersson — 27 saves on 33 shots against for a 0.818 save percentage. I wonder if they will use Fedetov more.
