Wednesday night was a game to forget, as the Blackhawks were absolutely embarrassed by the St. Louis Blues. This one got ugly super fast, as the Blues would score on their first four shots of the game. It was hands down the worst game for Mrazek, as he was yanked after just 4:37 of play and went 0-3 on save attempts. It looked like Soderblom was in for a long night as well, letting up a goal on the first shot he faced, but he was able to turn it around and had a pretty good game, stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced and managing to keep this one from going nuclear. One good thing that came out of this one was that Landon Slaggert was able to finally pick up his first career goal, and it was a beauty, beating Hofer up high. The Hawks were unable to play spoiler in this one, and the Blues were able to postpone the inevitable as they won 5-2.

The Hawks welcome the playoff-bound Nashville Predators to the UC for the second-to-last home game of the 2023–24 season. Nashville really turned their season around when they went on a franchise record 18-game point streak that saw them crawl from the draft lottery and right into playoff contention. While they have cooled off as of late, going 5-4-1 over their last ten, with three games left, they still have a lot to play for as they are in a tight battle with LA and Vegas for the top wild card spot. Nashville will turn to a familiar face on the net as they run with former Blackhawk Kevin Lankinen. Lanks has had himself a pretty good season, as he sports a 10-6 record and a.905 save percentage.

Projected Line Up

The team is making a few changes in the lineup and looking to bounce back in this one. Bedard is back at center with a returning Foligno and Kurashev on the wings. This line has really clicked throughout the year, so I am glad to see them back together. Connor Murphy will be back in the lineup for the first time since January 13th. It's great to see him get back on the ice after dealing with a severe groin injury. The other big addition to the D is going to be Ethan Del Mastro, making his NHL debut. Del Mastro has had a fantastic season, with the Ice Hogs putting up 37 points (7-30) over 66 games and earning an AHL All-Star spot. Arvid Soderblom gets the call in net.

That's going to be it from me. The puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. central time, and as always, let's go Hawks.
