1) Memorial Cup: After going 16-1 on their way winning the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League championship, the Drummondville Voltigeurs went winless in the 2024 Memorial Cup tournament. On Tuesday, Drummondville (0-3-0) lost to the Western Hockey League champion Moose Jaw Warriors (1-2-0) by a 5-3 score.
Flyers wing prospect Alexis Gendron registered his first point of the tournament in Tuesday's game, scoring a goal early in the third period to tie the score at 3-3. Drummondville rallied from a 3-0 deficit, with Gendron drawing his club even. However, the Warriors bounced back for shorthanded and empty-net goals to nail down the 5-3 final.
Tuesday's game was the final match of the 20-year-old Gendron's junior hockey career. Drummondville has been eliminated from the tournament.
On Wednesday, the Ontario Hockey League champion London Knights (2-0-0) will take on the team they beat in the OHL's Western Conference Final, the tournament host Saginaw Spirit (2-0-0).

3) Today in Flyers History: On May 29, 2010, the Flyers sustained a 6-5 road loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Flyers led by scores of 1-0, 3-2, and 4-3 as both Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton and his Chicago counterpart, Antti Niemi, strugged. The game went to the third period tied at 5-5. Finally, at 8:25 of the third period, Tomas Kopecky scored what proved to be the game winning goal againt relief goaltender Brian Boucher.
