Quick Hits: September 16

1) Flyers Daily: In this week's Mondays with Meltzer, Jason Myrtetus and I talk at length about our observations from the Rookie Series. We discuss a host of players and their outlooks heading into main camp and the 2024-25 season: Matvei Michkov, Jett Luchanko, Spencer Gill, Samu Tuomaala, Hunter McDonald, Carson Bjarnason, Elliot Desnoyers, Emil Andrae, and more. We also look at what's to come during the first few days of NHL camp: John Tortorella's infamous skating test and rope, a weekend of scrimmages similar to last year, Media Day, Fan Fest at the Flyers Training Center, and more.



2) My apologies for my voice sounding raspy on the podcast yesterday. I've had an annoying cold/cough that I haven't shaken yet. (My wife teases me by saying my laugh right now sounds like the Muttley cartoon character). Hopefully the podcast edit -- to delete a couple of coughing fits -- doesn't sound too rough when I'm talking.

3) Flyers general manager Danny Briere will speak to the media at 11 a.m. EDT at the FTC on Tuesday. He will wrap up Rookie Camp and discuss main camp.
