Last season, of course, the Edmonton Oilers recovered from a horrible start to the regular season and went on to come within one win of the Stanley Cup. This season, the Oilers aren't in horrible shape after 10 games (4-5-1) but they are coming off a 6-1 spanking on the road against Columbus. To be honest, the Oilers have started off with some very lackluster games even in a few wins.
To make matters worse, Edmonton lost the one player they absolutely CANNOT be without: Connor McDavid. (All due respect to Leon Draisaitl). He left the Columbus game in the first period and is on IR with a projected 2-3 week timetable for his return.
So Ek's question of the day is: Should the Oilers shop for a replacement who can move down in the lineup when McDavid returns? If so, who do YOU think they should pursue?
Update... The Leafs have traded Timothy Liljegren to San Jose....more to come..
