The Trois-Rivieres Lions were at Colisee Videotron for a three-game homestand, hosting the Reading Royals (Philadelphia Flyers) on Wednesday and Friday, followed by a visit from the Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey Devils) on Saturday.

Wednesday: Reading Royals 2 - Trois-Rivieres Lions 4

The Lions took a 2-0 lead with goals by Jacob Paquette and Israel Mianscum when the Royals cut the lead with a power play goal before the second intermission. The teams exchanged power play goals in the third period as Tommy Cormier scored for the home team and Brock Caufield, Cole’s brother, for the opposition. Mianscum added a goal midway through the frame to seal the Trois-Rivieres’ first win.

Friday: Reading Royals 2 - Trois-Rivieres Lions 3

Jacob Perreault opened the scoring in the first period with a highlight reel power play goal. It was his first goal since recently being assigned to the Lions. The Royals tied the score before the first intermission, but Trois-Rivieres took the lead back with a second power play goal of the match as Morgan Adams-Moisan buried the puck behind the goal line. The score was tied 2-2 when Xavier Cormier broke the tie with 5:36 remaining in regulation.

“We’re going to take the win. The first 12 minutes were good, but after that we tried to be a little cute. The second and third were okay. We found a way to get the win,” coach and general manager Ron Choules said. “That’s what I asked the guys to do in the end, to work hard to get the win. We worked hard and now we keep pushing forward.”

Saturday: Adirondack Thunder 1 - Trois-Rivieres Lions 2 (Shootout)

The Thunder took an early lead in the first period, and it remained that way until the third period when Xavier Cormier brought the teams back to drawing board. As the overtime did not settle a winner, a shootout was needed and Jakov Novak settled it to extend the Lions winning streak to three games.
