It’s time for everybody’s favorite game, “You’re the GM.”

There’s a lot of talk out there right now about the relationship between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson. I’m told a lot of it is overblown, and as others have said, every team has players that don’t get along. But these guys are getting paid a lot of money and are professional athletes, and they are perfectly fine working with each other. And if they’re not, they’re able to work through it for sure.

The Rangers have a deep interest in J.T. Miller and have tried on a few occasions to pry him away from the Vancouver Canucks. Many believe the deal was very close this weekend. The monkey wrench in this has become the amount of offers and interesting deals that are being proposed to Vancouver for Pettersson. Obviously this team is not gonna trade both of them.

Pettersson is a very interesting player to be on the table. There is no question he has struggled this year in Vancouver, and self-admittedly, his production is below the team’s expectations. However, this is one talented, still very young player who many around the league feel could be one day, bordering on superstardom…

I know at least three teams that have made offers: Carolina(e4), Philadelphia(e3), and Montreal(e3). All three would kill for a top center. I’m also told there are other teams, but I don’t know which teams yet. I suspect the Islanders, but Lamorello tells no tales…

My question is this: What would you offer for Elias Pettersson?

I believe the Flyers would offer their first, Jet Luchenko, and Scott Lawton…to start..
