William Nylander certainly likes Feb. 4. 8 years after his first hat trick (vs BOS), Willie picked up his second career tri-fecta last night in the city of his birth. Nylander now has 33 goals on the season. He's scored in straight games now (5G).
Leafs have won both games on their road trip, scoring 10 goals and going 4/6 on the power play. Amazing what a little influx off the injured list can do for a team. Next up for the blue and white is a the Pacific Northwest, Seattle Thursday night and Vancouver on Saturday.
Seattle is on a homestand where they are 1-2-1. Kraken sit 9 points out of a playoff spot.
With the win last night and loss by Panthers, Toronto is 1 point out of first place in the Atlantic with 2 games in hand.
The big question though is about the health of Mitch Marner, he didn't play last night, missing his first game of the season. His ice time against the Oilers was his lowest since Dec 21. Definite concern there for the blue and white leafs and the red and white ones.
More on Marner in tomorrow's column, as we tee up the Kraken and Buds.
