Well that was some kind of ugly in Toronto last night. Leafs up 2-0 in the third period against the worst team in the league. Sharks tied it up in the third period. OT solved nothing, which meant the Leafs had to participate in their first shootout of the season. It did not go well.
At least their point streak continued (5-0-1). It was just the second time this season that the Sharks came back from 2 goals down to win a game.Tavares and Knies both picked up their 24th goals on the season, both goals on the power play. Leafs couldn't muster anything at even strength.
Panthers won last night so the teams are tied in points, Toronto still with a game in hand. Auston Matthews extended his point streak to 10 games with an assist on the Knies goal. The Leafs looked like a team last night in the third period, that just simply ran out of gas, only two shots on net in the third period. It was the second time this season the Leafs had 2 shots on net in the third period (Dec 27 at DET).
Tomorrow night the Leafs are in Vegas, we will tee that game up tomorrow morning. Vegas is in the midst of a 5 game home stand (2-0-0).
