All eyes on Ovechkin today as he chases goal 895 this afternoon at the Islanders.
Gretzky in 98-99 had 1 goal in his last 20 games played, his worst goal production of his career at only 9 on the season, I don't think that was in honour of Gordie Howe. Gretzky played 1,487 games in his career and that's the game number for Ovechkin today.

Ovie has a 4 game goal streak (5G), currently. He has 40 or more goals against 10 different teams, including the Islanders (44). However he hasn't played against the Islanders since Dec 2023.

Ovechkin has scored at least one goal against an NHL-record 182 different goaltenders but has yet to beat Ilya Sorokin.
