Sharks re-sign Henry Thrun |

The San Jose Sharks announced today that they’ve signed defenseman Henry Thrun to a two-year contract, carrying a $1 million cap hit.
Thrun is 23 years old, and played 51 NHL games this season. Over that time, Thrun managed three goals and 11 points, while averaging 20 minutes per game in ice time. The deal also comes in at good value – I had projected a two-year deal for Thrun could cost up to a $1.6 million cap hit, at HockeyComparables.com.
With the Sharks’ defense group still somewhat of a makeshift unit, Thrun should get another good chance with the team next season. He’ll have both Mario Ferraro and now Jake Walman ahead of him on the left side, but could certainly work his way up the lineup, if he keeps developing. Still just in his early 20s, the hope is that Thrun could become a long-term piece within San Jose’s defense group.
