Charlie Stramel, the local Rosemount, MN native, becomes the latest Wild first round draft selection. Stramel was a preseason top 10 projected pick, but an up and down Freshman season at Wisconsin altered those expectations.
Stramel is a big physical center who is stro g in the faceoff circle. He has good speed with the drawback being his first step acceleration. He projects to be a mid-tier NHL center with strong net front presence.
Today the Wild have picks 53 and 64 in round two.
