Will Guerin Part With One of His Core Players? |

As we watch the Stanley Cup Final, seeing two teams, both appear light years ahead of the Wild, competing for thw sports ultimate prize.
What do the Wild need to do to get to that level?
We know all about the cap issues and the feeling that the next two seasons making thw playoffs is a bonus.
That is not at all what Bill Guerin is all about and certainly not the sentiments of Wild owner, Craig Leipold, either.
The fact is the Wild have a legit star in Kirill Kaprizov, and wasting two more of his prime seasons, without providing him a legit center may prove to have long lasting consequences.
Bill Guerin needs to explore every single angle when it comes to improving his team. Even the potential of dealing his leadership team, of Jared Spurgeon and Marcus Foligno. We know that Matt Dumba will not be returning, but how about dealing his rights to his preferred destination prior to free agency?
We just witnessed a creative three team trade between the Kings, Blue Jackets, and Flyers. That is something that Guerin needs to look at more closely to see how he may be able to make something similar work with prospects and or picks.
The bargain basement worked recently for getting the Wild to qualify for the playoffs, but not much more after that.
We know Guerin has a plan, however there needs to be an escalation of that blueprint at some point too...
