Lucas Raymond continues to grow each year and is Detroit’s top point producer. The speedy winger plays with a lot of grit and determination. Detroit will need every bit of it tonight as they face Edmonton.

Last year Edmonton got to game 7 of the playoffs. The drama and push satiated a significant appetite for the league to have the league’s star player open up and take the room. It actually felt like there were more clips regarding the Oiler’s loss than of the Panther’s win.

In this era, the best analogy that comes to mind is that McDavid and Draisaitl are the new Crosby and Malkin. To step back and take in what the team accomplished and the growth within the room feels an awful lot like Pittsburgh 2008 with the potential for Pittsburgh 2009 on the horizon.

Detroit is going to have their hands full, again. The win against Tampa after the preceding loss was a welcome sight. The win against Florida before the 3 game slide, same. It will take another “miracle” in net and staying out of the box while cashing in on the power play.

Regardless of result, you want to see 60 minutes and no stupid penalties taken. Let me know your thoughts, and enjoy the game!
