It was a nice bounce back win on an emotional night Tuesday in Columbus. Both the Blue Jackets and Panthers did a nice job honoring the memory of the Gadreau brothers.
Though still a young season, this win should help show the Cats that they can recover from some games ripe with poor play.
While it was a good win for the team as a whole, it was particularly important for Spencer Knight. I (and others) have been critical of the young netminder over the years, but Tuesday’s win should serve as a big confidence boost for Knight, who turned away 35 of 38 shots.
TONIGHT
Finally off the road, the Panthers will welcome the 0-1-2 Vancouver Canucks to South Florida tonight.
The ‘Nucks were a fun story last season, but have struggled out of the gate this year. They are looking for their first win, and after being dropped 4-1 by the Lightning on Tuesday, they are certainly desperate for a W.
Maurice announced that Bob will be in the blue paint this evening.
Look for Reinhart to
stay hot.
As Jameson Olive points out:
“
With a team-high three points during Tuesday’s 4-3 win in Columbus, the Panthers’ two-way terror has moved into a tie for first place in the NHL with eight points in five games.
Four of those points have come in the form of goals, including two shorthanded strikes.”
