It only took two minutes and sixteen seconds for Josh Bailey to score what ended up being the game winner in what was a system-heavy 2-0 loss to the Barry Trotz led New York Islanders. It was a frustrating game to watch. The Golden Knights had only a couple high danger opportunities and the red hot Ilya Sorokin made sure Vegas wasn’t getting back into it. It was the 26 year old Russian’s second shutout in two games. The Golden Knights can’t afford for the Marchessault-Karlsson-Reilly line to not translate on their chances. This line, Evgeni Dadonov and Keegan Kolesar were the only players driving offence last night.
More injuries?
In daily injury news, Nolan Patrick is the sixth player to leave the lineup. He is considered day-to-day. Kolesar caught an unintentional elbow from Anders Lee in the third and looked shaken. Earlier in the game he took a puck to the face.
Zero goals on the powerplay on the season
The Golden Knights are currently 0-10 in the powerplay this season. Assistant Coach Steve Spott has to be feeling the pressure.
The Golden Knights play another hungry team in the the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow at 6pm.
Enjoy your day,
