The Golden Knights have found a way to post a 9-7-0 record while getting virtually zero consistency in terms of how their lineup looks on any given night. Their most successful goal scorers in the lineup tonight are Evgenii Dadonov (5) and Reilly Smith (5). I may sound like a broken record, but the Golden Knights just can’t seem to dress a healthy lineup this season.

At least Stone is back. If DeBoer can get this team into the playoffs he deserves at least a Jack Adams nomination.

In any case, the 9-7-0 Golden Knights look to bounce back after a 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at 8pm MT versus the 8-8-2 Detroit Red Wings. Here is the lineup.

Don’t sleep on the Red Wings
Although the Golden Knights carry a better record and more star power, the Red Wings managed to beat them earlier in the month. The top line of Bertuzzi-Larkin-Raymond has found ways to run away with games. Tonight’s starter, Tomas Greiss has an underwhelming 1-3-0 record and .909 save percentage, but his one win came against the Golden Knights.

The casual fan wouldn’t expect Nicolas Roy to charge up the lineup onto the second line before the 20 game mark of the season. He has absolutely earned it. In so many games this year (as well as the third round if last year’s playoffs) it seemed like Roy the only offence the Golden Knights could muster. Nic Roy has eight points in 14 games and has played through a back injury for a large part of the young season. His linemate Keegan Kolesar deserves his place as well, but has picked up where he left off last season — getting all the quality opportunities and having nothing to show for it. Three assists in 16 games.
