Hello, All,

We are one day away from the first game of the regular season for the Washington Capitals. Tomorrow night, the Caps take on the Boston Bruins. The game will be broadcasting on TNT at 7pm.

There have been a few developments since my last post so let's jump right into it.

The Capitals Lose Two Players to Waivers -The Capitals placed forwards Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Henrik Borgstrom, Brett Leason and defenseman Lucas Johansen. Jonsson-Fjallby was claimed by the Winnipeg Jets and Leason by the Anaheim Ducks. Borgstrom and Johansen cleared waivers and were sent to the Hershey Bears. Losing both players is a tough pill to swallow.

Notable guys who made the squad are Protas, Snively, and Irwin. The Protas experiment is about to go full send and I cant wait. ProtaSZN!

Capitals Final Lines - Here are the reported final lines from the Capitals at practice today. This will likely be the starting lines for the game tomorrow against Boston:

Protas-Strome-Mantha? Yes, please! We need a clever name for this line asap. Oshie on the third is different take but I am sure Laviolette will flex lines through the game depending on the vibe. Here are the expected lines for the Bruins game tomorrow:

Lotta action! McMichael with the extras is not a great look for him. If the Capitals were not planning on using him, could they have sent him down to Hershey since he is waiver exempt and saved a guy like Jonsson-Fjallby or Brett Leason? Maybe, but I’m sure it’s not that simple.

Carl Hagelin Has Surgery:

#Caps forward Carl Hagelin underwent an arthroscopic surgical procedure to address his chronic left hip on Monday morning. Hagelin will be out indefinitely.

This was expected and we wish Hagelin a speedy recovery!

Ilya Samsonov - Samsonov is expected to start against the Capitals on the back-to-back Thursday. This one makes me feel weird. I am rooting for him this season but I also want to win. I wont think too far ahead but maybe lets get a 4-2 win over TOR thursday with an EN goal. Ovechkin gets one of Sammy after Sammy said Matthews had a harder shot. Add Sammy to the list of goalie casualties.

That is all for now, I am SUPER pumped for the game tomorrow and cant wait to get the season underway.
