Cats and Leafs, Peers Vote for Barkov |

After stringing together a nice run of wins to collect points for their playoff hopes (seven-game point streak), the Cats stumbled in Philadelphia on Tuesday, losing 6-3.
Despite loading up the SOG category at 44, Florida was just not that sharp, which opened the door for a hungry Flyers team to step in and take control.
It’s frustrating to feel like the Panthers were coming around, working hard to gain traction back into the playoff picture, only to lose to a non-playoff team and miss out on much-needed points.
But the Cats will get another crack at it tonight when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. This game presents a big opportunity for Florida to jump in front of Pittsburgh for the second Wild Card spot as they are just one point behind the Pens.
In “swinging for the fences” fashion, the Leafs loaded up at the deadline — adding a number of pieces to try and get over their historically bad mojo in the first round. But even with all that firepower, the good teams can still be beat. Toronto dropped their last game to the Islanders by a score of 7-2. If I’m the Panthers, I’m taking note of that.
One thing Maurice talked about for tonight was trying to take away Toronto’s time and space. With all the talent the Leafs have, the last thing you want to do is give them time and space to work with and setup their scheme.
The Cats have a tall order today, but it’s not out of the realm of reality that they can get the W. Gotta grind it out tonight without Bennet (who is still injured)!

The Captain was picked by his peers as the most underrated player in the league. That’s a very cool honor in my opinion.
