Getting smacked worked a lot quicker than having my Atari taken away for a week back in the day. Some kids out there need a good smack in the A$$ now a days.

I believe we have 7 or 8 pending UFAs, so shouldn't be too much of an issue. Does Benson even count being that he's only played CHL games? I missed our refresher course on that.
- QuinnFan

looks like he would only count if he played 11 nhl games

The 50-contract limit has an interesting distinction in that the limit pertains to the season(s) for which a contract is valid. All NHL player contracts expire on June 30. The year varies from contract to contract, but the day remains the same (as we’ll discuss more when we look at player contracts in later editions of the feature). Knowing it has expiring contracts coming off its 50-contract maximum, a team can sign players to contracts for the following season. By doing so a team may have more than 50 different players signed to valid SPCs, as long as 50 or fewer are signed to valid SPCs for that current season AND fewer than 50 SPCs on tap for the upcoming season.

Rap music is fine

Luke Combs' does a cover of Fast Car from Tracy Chapman, and it's racist
Of course it was fine when Justin Bieber did it a few years ago

once he signs Benson, he will have used 49 of his 50 contracts
- homiedclown

Total NHL contracts per team = 50 (including two-way contracts and NHL contracts in the minors), players who meet the following three conditions do not count to this limit: 1. The player is 18 or 19 years of age. 2. Is in a junior or European league, and 3. who have not played 11 NHL games the current season

Don't forget the Murray rule that was implemented at the last owners meeting. The rest of the league was so afraid of Brett Murray they forced the Sabres to hold 2 contracts for him to make it fair for the rest of the league.

I thought Adams should've traded Tage immediately after his 5 goal game. His value was as high as it will ever be. With Brett playing full time this year people will completely forget Tage is even on the roster.

My source says he heard from his brothers sister in laws uncle that something big is brewing in sabreland. KA was spotted walking around Target with a pen and pad. Definitely a list was on the first page.

With the pure number of players they've drafted the last few years, I do think it's an issue.

A few will come off of the 50 count during the season, which would allow them to sign 1 year deals to handle injuries. Next summer, we're right back to it being a factor in who they sign. I wouldn't call it a big deal, but you can already see Roch bursting at the seams.

Listen bro, he just used test himself by sleeping in bed naked next to his underage nieces or something - it wasn't sexual at all.

It's actually quite a few names though: Olo, Jost, Okposo, Girgs, Erik Johnson, Lyubushkin, Comrie, Cecconi, Davies, Tokarski and Cooley. Is it so bad given we'll be cutting the fat this time next year? I don't see any of these guys staying outside maybe Cecconi if they want some right handed depth on the farm.
