On Monday we discussed the teams that are likely to be looking for either a #1 or tandem goaltender this summer. Seven teams (Detroit, Toronto, Ottawa, New Jersey, Washington, Utah, and Los Angeles) were listed and that might be a conservative estimate.

Today, we look at the teams with extra goaltending that might be the sellers at the NHL Draft next month or in early July.

Atlantic:

Boston – Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark has one year left, Jeremy Swayman is an arb-eligible RFA in line for a big pay raise, and the Bruins have young goalies in the pipeline that can be backups in the NHL next season.

Florida – Sergei Bobrovsky is 35 and everyone thought Spencer Knight was the future, but he spent all season in the AHL. Would Bill Zito consider trading the 23-year-old?

Metro:

Carolina – Freddy Andersen has one year left at a reasonable salary and came up short in the playoffs again. Pyotr Kochtekov might be poised to take over as the #1.

Columbus – Elvis might be ready to leave the building and with a brisk goalie market, new GM Don Waddell might find a taker for his $5.4 million contract.

Central:

Minnesota – Fleury surprisingly re-signed for another year, Jesper Wallstedt might be ready after a strong AHL season, could that mean Bill Guerin will shop Filip Gustavsson with two years left on his deal?

Nashville – Well chronicled, does Barry Trotz extend Juuse Saros, trade him, or trade Yaroslav Askarov…..inquiring minds want to know?

Utah – A buyer and a seller on the goalie market. Before last season, many said that a team looking for a goalie might take a flyer on Vejmelka, but he had a terrible season with the Yotes. Would someone still be willing?

Pacific:

Anaheim – It’s time for the annual “will the Ducks trade John Gibson” mention. 23-year-old Lukas Dostal is someone in line to be a #1 and is young enough to be in his prime when Anaheim is ready to contend.

Calgary – Will it be Jacob Markstrom or Daniel Vladar traded….it’s likely Markstrom since he will bring a lot more in return.

Vancouver – This is a long shot since Casey DeSmith is a UFA, but will teams come calling on Arturs Silovs after his strong showing in the playoffs?
