he is 28 years old

at this point, he is what he is

a cheap guy that the cap strapped bruins let walk

- homiedclown

I mean every free agent is a player their team let walk for one reason or another.

a solid 5 guy for the sabres would be in the press box for the knights or panthers during the finals

He very well could be, he obviously has some sort of tear in his calf. Really depends how bad it is.

Seems to me the way the Sabres built there D there gonna spread the minutes out. I will bet you see Dahlin play with everyone as will Power and probably Samuelsson. They will make minutes up between the 3 above until they see what Clifton can and can't handle minute wise IMO of course.
- Buff36

I agree.

Depending on the situation the Sabres can roll out a few different combinations both offensively and defensively.

Can shorten the bench and run:

Power-Dahlin
Samuelsson-Clifton

It gives Donnie options

It helps to if they keep Joker that they can roll a 3rd pair that can play 17min a game if need be.

he had 71 points in the last 2 years

for an average of 35 points per year

the previous 6 years

29
33
31
29
27 missing 13 games
22 in 51 games
35

pretty damn consistent to anyone outside of a sabres chat room

also pretty sure you wanted no part of him or Gustafsson when I thought we should throw darts to try to get one of those at the deadline

- homiedclown

He is pretty consistent. And then went off on a new team with a new system.

He could very well be closer to a 60pt player with Carolina than the regular 30 he was with Wash.

My point is, always room for improvement, just cause your older doesn't mean you cant learn new tricks.

And I proably said no to Gustafsson, I've always liked Orlov though. Maybe I had said I would prefer a RHD? I dont think I would have said no to Dimitri

Taylor said he had some soreness there from the day before. Looks like they probably missed something more than just soreness.

I am still not sure Clifton is an upgrade over a healthy Bush

On Wednesday, one day before Burrow was carted off the practice field, he was asked about being healthy and having a normal training camp for the first time in his career.

"Knock on wood -- I feel great," Burrow said. "This time last year I was sitting in a hospital bed. It's good to be out there with the guys. Excited about where we're at."

Biggest ? to me about Clifton is when they do start adding a minute here and there will he still bring the physical edge as much during a game. Is adding time to his game gonna take away what made him a somewhat attractive addition.

I forgot my number I threw out there.

I think it was 4.1 or 4.2 million. So that it will only cost the Sabres a 2nd round pick

Where did you see that? It’s “ several weeks. “

I’m guessing 2-3 weeks max

At the absolute very least they should shut him down for the preseason, there's no reason for him to play. If Josh Allen gets a hangnail on his left pinky they should shut him down for the preseason. It's not like Bryce Young who needs the reps.

Zac Taylor was asked if this could affect Burrows for the Opener. " Well 7 weeks is 7 weeks"

Oh I agree they should save him for the regular season. I just didn’t see he was out for 7 weeks. That seemed like a lot lol

If it's a grade 2 which it sounds like it could take 6 to 8 weeks. And he probably doesn't want to push it. Grade 3 and he could be out 3 to 4 months

I have no idea if this is accurate (it was 15 years ago) but apparently Spacek was elite
