Did Granato play Joker at all with Dahlin last year, I can't remember? Maybe when Sammi was hurt?

14.5% of the time at 5v5 and obviously a lot more in prior years.

first overall picks on D should be playing 23 minutes a night, not 20

unless your name is erik johnson

- homiedclown

For all we know Power-Dahlin can be our top pair come opening night.

We don’t know

Power-Dahlin
Samuelsson-Clifton
Stillman- E Johnson

Maybe Ryan Johnson impresses in camp and claims that 3LHD spot. Guy has played 8 years of college so it wouldn’t shock me if he was ready.

I think Donnie keeps Dahlin and Samuelsson together, Power with Johnson and Clifton with Joker.

I’m not anticipating any trades tbh.

Pair up Dahlin with Power on the powerplay.

My guess is Dahlin is PP1, Power PP2.

Clifton, Samuelsson, Johnson and whoever the 4th d-man ends up being in the equation will man the PK units (don’t need Dahlin or Power getting hurt blocking a shot).

Who were the major upgrades ?

The free agent market was the worst in decades.

Bertuzzi and Duchene were never going to sign here.

The major upgrades would come in the trade market that hasn’t really materialized

- Swedish_Jesus

You’ve been a ball of excuses the entire offseason.

Connor freaking Clifton aka Colin Miller was their big move

It’s indefensible. And the days until rosters are set are fast approaching

Collin Miller has been a productive NHL d-man his entire career aside from getting “Ralph’d” during his time here.

Aside from Orlov, I’m confused as to who we missed out on in terms of d-men this offseason.

The trade market hasn’t materialized yet, but there is still time.

Like ffs just because I’m not in here day in and day out PMS’ing about the team with still half an offseason left before training camp doesn’t mean I don’t have expectations.

I haven’t been on here more than 5 minutes all week.

I also don’t see why it can’t be Adams to help break the gridlock on the trade market.

But whatever. They’re projected to be an 85 point team right now in year 4 of Adams. If they miss the playoffs I sincerely hope he’s fired. He won’t be but I hope he does.

If he took a swing this offseason or attempted to fix the goaltending and not ride Levi I’d feel differently

I didn’t see a single projection that had them getting 90 points last offseason.

The projections are based off 3 year rolling averages which doesn’t favour a team that’s core talent is predicated of youth and players that have taken large jumps in production the last year or two.

The roster has holes, I think everyone can see that.

I’ll base my thoughts on what I see opening night and beyond.

I also think this team is better than people give it credit for current day.

I can also be wrong, but I’m not going to fret every day until October worrying about it

I think there are some other teams in the eastern conference that is better than many, on this thread, are giving credit for as well

Every single team in the Atlantic has question marks.

Even the proverbial “playoff locks”.

I see 6 locks in the east already, aside from massive injuries

panthers, bolts, leafs, rangers, devils, canes

we are fighting 9 other teams for 2 spots

Wouldn’t consider the Rangers a lock.

Tampa I think is a question mark as well. They really tailed off from the mid-way mark on last year and downgraded hard from Killorn and Colton to Connor Sheary

They will almost assuredly score less than last year. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think so.

They didn’t get any needle mover on D. They improved slightly, but also they were super healthy last year.

Power could also have a sophomore slump (not predicting it) guys tend to try and do too much in year 2. We saw it with Dahlin/Myers/Risto etc.

There’s reason to believe they won’t be a 90 point team again.

There’s also reason to believe they will be a 95 point team. Who knows

They could’ve alleviated a lot of doubts with a few moves. They’ve chosen not to so far

NFL Running Back situation- We have negotiated a CBA,that took years of effort and hard work and compromise in good faith by both sides..to say now that a specific Player category wants another negotiation after the fact,is inappropriate. Some Agents are selling ‘bad faith’..

They're appropriately placed. But I'm not sure they're twice as valuable as a kicker. K should probably be between P and RB
