Yes safe play, and it might really hurt them this year. Time for Adams to get out of his safe play zone. Sabres are at that point Boss.
- Buff36

Just because you have an aggressive approach doesn't mean Adam's is gonna change how he does business.

Why change anything, we just improved 16 points or something like that?

Dont get your Hope's up, nobody in the nhl is doing anything movement wise. Why would expect a conservative gm to lead the offseason movement?

You want a big move... not happening

Olofsson is a great injury replacement for Quinn, lucky to have him on the roster.

They play a similar game, olo can fill in some pp time.

Were talking a 3 time nhl 20 goal scorer. How can you discount his consistency?

Olofsson's improved 5 x 5

Seems like a far safer play, then a rookie. This franchise is all about the safe play.

Quinn and Olafson do not play a similar game. Olafson is a sniper that needs a set-up guy. Quinn can create on his own. Olafson is a net negative. I see him as being a nice value for a team that’s the exact opposite of the Sabres. A team that has good team D and needs somebody to pot goals on the PP

you have mogilny and lafontaine, try to win a cup

you have hasek, try to win a cup

you have the french connection, try to win a cup

you have the winningest hockey coach of all time, bowman, try to win a cup

you have tage, skinner, tuch, cozens, power, dahlin
try to limp into 8th in the east

it's one thing for adams to not have his balls drop yet, but for half the posters here I expected some of them to have had their balls drop by now

I don't have any hope for a move, I think as soon as they signed Girgensons I basically said they where running it back. Sabres didn't even need to make a trade to improve there team this off-season. Instead they overpaid there 4th line instead of throwing a little extra towards a Duchene or a Sprong or a Hathaway. Yes I am aggressive in my approach, but I am being aggressive because the Sabres had the assets to do It.

It sure looks like Adams plan is to waste that top line while it’s together.

And Boss’s complacency shocks me more than any other poster here. That’s one guy I thought would demand better.

That's interesting, quinn created 1/2 the amount of goals as olofsson. Good point though with the assists and +/- though. Probably a more well rounded player already.

Neither play defense

Looking at the line up, Quinn's Injury leaves a void on the 2nd line.

Just an opinion, but the 28 goal scorer should fit nicely for a few months.

The team has a #1 top nhl line
2 top centers locked up long term
2 #1 OA defenseman

I like the team, call me complacent.

I had 0 expectations, because I follow this team and knew exactly what this offseason was going to look like.

I guess I'm supposed to be upset and post anti - Adam's sentiment? Does that make you feel better? Does that change anything?

Team played well last season, no reason to expect anything less. Interal growth should push us for the #8 spot while keeping vibes/ continuity.

The Bills were built through the draft too.

Difference being drafted prospects make an impact the second their name is called.

Olofsson is a 1 trick pony that lost his only truck last year. He was useless.

Hence why his trade value is in the toilet

Why does this bother you?

The Sabres added 2 nhl defenseman and we're in mid july.

No teams are making moves.

Adam's just needs one marquise trade. VO prob stays now with Quinn injury. Can be a deadline sell for a 2nd when Quinn comes back.

Goalie situation shaky but can be salvaged with a big D trade .

What does Joker, Rosen and a pick get you? Does that get a for sure #4 D?

I'll take our goalie situation if our top 4 is

Dahlin/Sammy
Power/ Hanafin?
Rotating bottom pair of stillman, boosh and the Johnson's.

and trades

brown, beasley, diggs wr's when they got better

2 of the bottom 3 in their top 5 for this year was free agents

good chunk of o line free agents

3 of their 4 rbs were either trade or free agent

half their d line free agents

almost entire safety group free agents

so they drafted
allen
3 o linemen
davis
cook
2 te's
most lbs
cb 's
and half their d line

and kicker

I’ve never said I had a problem with the depth we acquired on defense. Nor have I said I disapproved of the fact we’ve locked up our core. What I’m saying is that we are a couple shrewd moves away from being a very, very good team precisely because of the things you mentioned. Moves that Adams has yet to demonstrate he can pull off. It’s concerning. And I just cannot understand the whipping boy syndrome some have adopted. It’s like you’re all survivors of domestic abuse. Just sad.

A little bit, but, the Diggs trade showed that Beane was serious about competing. A lot of UFA signings too, which is totally opposite of KA's strategy. Von last year, Floyd and a starting guard through UFA this year, maybe even a starting RB in the end. The difference between Beane and KA is both believe in the draft but Beane is more aggressive building the roster through trades and UFA too

if the goal is not to win a cup in 2 years, settle for maybe limping into 7th or 8th

trade Tuch now

the slow players will not want to trade Tuch
