Or you can just send Zegras over. No need for a second trade.

I would actually consider Z for McAvoy straight up... but I'm not sure Bruins would be down with that.

Saves you guys a bit of cap space depending on what Z's new contract is. Helps both teams major deficiencies ... We need D and you need top end skill...

And yes I know Pasta and Marchand are still around.

The rest of the EC is grinning like a Cheshire Cat. That being said, cheers to Patrice on a certain HOF career. Classy, classy player.

Detroit and Boston can't both suck or we will have to give Ottawa a top-16 pick. I'm fine if you guys are good for exactly one more year.

Dvorak would look good as your 3C, I'm sure you can get him cheap

Hmm, best I can do is Derek Forbort.

The Bruins aren’t trading Mcavoy for Zegras…

I love Zegras the player but that isn’t happening.

Boston will do what they do best… avoid the obvious and get out the band aids instead of rebuilding.

Do what they do best. Win games and compete every year. Not tank and diddle athletes.

I can make a case for renaming a certain trophy the Bettman cup. Let's just change all the names. It's not like the NHL has any history of note.

Firsthand experience - Zacha is not, and will NEVER be, a 1C

He took a pretty substantial jump in improvement last year. Even from the beginning to the end of the season. To be honest, at the end of the season he might have been our best center and played well with Pasta. I’m not concerned with him centering that line. He wasn’t exactly in a position to succeed in New Jersey.

I think while the team bridges it's going to be Zacha and Coyle 1 and 2. I'm willing to Monty will juggling that quite a bit. I don't believe he's a true #1C. Hopefully he gets of hearing that and develops a chip on his shoulder.

Geekies role just expanded. Hopefully he can develop some chemistry and fill the 2/3C. He will definitely have plenty of opportunity.

Was actually thinking this. Give Geekie a shot with Pasta or Marchand and see what he can do. Worst case scenario you're back to Coyle or you try someone else.

My best guess is either Poitras or Harrison will be the first of the center call ups from Providence. I am skeptical either one will make the team out of camp, but I am open to being surprised by their play.

I think one or both will get a good look this year at some point though. Any injuries up the middle will provide opportunity for them.

EDIT: I probably shouldn't discount Beecher or McLaughlin, they might get a look too. But I just think there is more upside with Poitras and Harrison for top 6 play.

I think Mclaughlin will get time as the 4C for sure. Beecher unfortunately hasn't shown much so far.

Or how about this... Trade DeBrusk and Frederic to us Ducks for picks and prospects...then take some of said pieces and deal with Flames.
- dozerD10

Interesting why not do a 3 team deal then. At first I thought Buffalo was a good fit:
To Boston: Lindholm
To Buffalo: Tanev & Swayman
To Calgary: Krebs, Buff 2024 1st & Carlo

But not sure what pieces Anaheim would give up that would be of interest to us.

Chicago fans acting like they won the cup because they won the lottery. Congratulations. One player isn’t getting you to a cup.
