it's up to gm's to make a market as well though
- homiedclown

When does this become the present? What year
- sbroads24

I'd like to say this year.

But bummy backups and a rookie goalie could really fvck us. Hopefully the guys back check and play D really hard cause the goalies will be needing it.

The bold is the most important question of the upcoming season.

They are going to really need to prove it re: the above, and not for a handful of games either.

Until they show it, very difficult to believe the defense will substantially improve.

12 F and 6 D all need to play it too. Not just a couple guys.

Sure. But the right top 4.

+ I believe they really like Savoie as well and want to pair him with Benson in the long run. As long as that shoulder holds up.

- DirtyDan

Wait until this happens, it is going to be glorious...might take awhile for both to develop, but when they do watchout. Put Rosen with them and holy sh!ite.

Just need a couple more tank years to round out the D

Signed 36

Doesn’t change how fragile he’s been his whole career

Funny you keep bringing me into this little thing, I never said I wanted the trade for Chychrun, said he would have been a decent get. But never said to trade for him. Funny the guy you say barely plays 50gms, Still manages to do more than Great28.

Because KA is more concerned with "losing a trade" than winning NHL hockey games.

Having a surplus of picks and prospects is what was supposedly going to give us the leg up on prying NHL talent from a team.

Where does Ostlund fit in on this roster in 1-2 years?

What about Rosen?

- sbroads24

Is a Johnson-Clifton 3rd pair a case of Donnie flipping off the front office? Sure feels like it.

people seem to forget that each month rosen and ostlund are out of the nhl, they are losing trade value
- homiedclown

I don't this statement is true, in general as I have seen it presented before.
Prospects who are still in the predicted development phase and who are improving their game and productivity in alignment with their with projected development curve are holding value, perhaps increasing value as they get closer making the jump.

It is when they fall off the curve or timeline the value decreases.

I like how when you say good hockey trade, it automatically translates to Benson plus Savoie plus plus plus

Context was top 4 D man.
What do you think it would take?

Always interesting who preseason matters for and who it's completely dismissed for.

Not sure I’d take that leap but it’s probably not what KA envisioned with Clifton to start.

Hey, bring something here that I said to trade for Chychrun. Believe I didn't like it because I wanted a RD, been saying Top 4 RD for probably 3 years. Actually someone got mad on here cause I was talking so much Defense. Did say I wouldn't mind if they did it, he would be a decent get. I troll Great28 because I don't think he is needed and is replaceable. You brought me into your conversation because I probably said something about Soft28. And know I wanted Chychrun and since he gets hurt, Oh we can get 36 because of Chychrun and him being soft with injuries. Interesting thing, even with all those injuries Girgensons has never outproduced Chychrun a DEFENSEMAN

Just look at your annual prospect rankings.

The guys valued the most are always the guys whose warts or shortcomings we haven’t seen yet.

The perfect prospects play pretty quickly.

I think they just want to wait a bit on the new guys getting used to the team before they move them up.

Although alternatively, the highest XG pairs last year were dahlin-jokiharju and power-samuelsson.

So it may end up being a case of "nothing added is better than what I already had"

No offense meant, just meant that best players should be on the ice.

Johnson as we’ve been told is a liability on the ice and Clifton was benched by an elite defensive team.

Could just be they ain’t good.
