Maybe they did speak, and told him they needed to get these deals done first?

Perhaps. Might also not be totally sold yet.

It seems like they really like him. I think it's more likely they try to sign him sooner than later. It may come down to whether Casey wants to sign now or gamble and probably get traded at the deadline

Not a bad guess. Think he views himself as that much less than Cozens?
- Lunaion

You've seen enough from Casey to feel comfortable locking him up at more than $5M per on a mid term, say 5 year deal?

He should be pissed at this own agent, not another player or their agent.
- kingcong39

Tage got paid the going rate at the time of his extension.

Which at the time of the signing was extremely risky for the Sabres and Adams

They're convinced Casey is a long term piece?

They shouldn't be.

Conveniently forgetting that Tage easily could've bet on himself and waited to sign until this last offseason, when $7M per would've been a pipe dream.

Easy yes. If he adds any offense its a steal. If he completely busts you have multiple chances to buy him out at 1/3.

He's nuts if he signs this with the cap jumping to 87 or 88.

Benson and Savoie ELC slide and they sign Kane to a one year deal.

Time to pray to the gods Kane has something left in the tank and he’s not just the Erik Johnson forward signing

His career at the time didn’t blossom and completely take off yet. He would’ve been a fool for not taking that deal.
